CITIZENS OF HUMANITY X BILLY REID
Made in the USA with Regenerative Cotton
Denim is a fabric that gets you through life; it’s what we always reach for and what we live in. That’s why we continue to partner with Citizens of Humanity (COH) to make honest jeans in the USA. It’s about a commitment to craftsmanship and community—and that starts with the fabric. By using regenerative cotton we’re able to maintain a design, community, and environmental integrity without compromise.
Inspired by denim’s enduring spirit, Billy captured the soul of our home, Muscle Shoals, in our latest photoshoot. Local musicians Andy Baxter (of Penny & Sparrow), Payton Pruitt (of Carver Commodore), Walton Reid, and Thad Saajid (of Thad and Co.) came together to evoke the essence of homegrown creativity.
Celebrating the community through jeans goes beyond Muscle Shoals. The regenerative cotton in our latest COH jeans is important to us because it’s a farming practice that helps improve the soil (not just sustain it) and support farmers. Growing cotton is an intensive process that degrades soil systems and can leave the land in a bad state. By using regenerative cotton it builds soil health through less tilling, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, promotes biodiversity, ensures fair working conditions, and creates transparent supply chains.
COH has partnered with farms to harvest almost 9 million pounds of regenerative cotton in four years. Their US-based farms are The Integrity Grown™ certified; a new standard for growing cotton by Advancing Eco Agriculture. Every year each farm goes through the verification process to ensure quality and practices.
